Responsibilities/Expectations:
- Participates in network survey, design, and installations under direction of the team lead
- Conducts Site Surveys of customer premise networks in CONUS and OCONUS locations
- Creates detailed Site Survey reports detailing a site’s current infrastructure, NIST and TEMPEST compliance, along with design recommendations
- Configures, installs, tests, certifies, and troubleshoots network infrastructure cabling
- Ensures Network cabling infrastructure is compliant with current NIST and TEMPEST standards
- Builds and installs equipment racks, installs, dresses, labels, and terminates Cat6 and Fiber cable in telecommunications rooms
- Tests and troubleshoot network infrastructure issues on SIPR and NIPR networks.
- Developing Bills of Material (BOM) for network plant design requirements
- Arranges scheduled upgrades
- Investigating faults in the network
- Reports network infrastructure deployment status to key stakeholders
- Have flexible working hours to be available to support off hour work when needed
- Performs preventative maintenance
- Understanding of ANSI/TIA-568 and 569 standards
- Requirements of Protective Distribution Systems (PDS) for Classified Systems as directed by Security and/or the Certified Tempest Technical Authority (CTTA)
- National Security Telecommunication & Information Systems Security Instruction (NTISSI) 7003.
- DISA network topologies and standards
- Topology and rack elevations using Visio
- Experience with various OTDR, cable testers, and network sniffers and report generation for infrastructure certification documentation
Required Qualifications/Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Sciences or 5+ years related experience
- Successful completion of a certified technical/vocational school, and 2 years related experience OR a combination of applicable training and experience
- IAT Level I (A+ CE, CCNA Security, CND, SSCP, Network+ CE)
